There are plans to bring back the Philippine boxing Pride Manny Pacquiao this April against a less - rated opponent for his preparation of a fifth fight against Juan Manuel Marquez who knocked him down in the 6th round last December 2012, where most outlets voted their match as the " Fight of the Year."
The possible opponents in the line are Jessie Vargas ( 29, 0, 9KO's ) and Vyacheslav Senchenco ( 33, 1, 22 KO's ).
Marquez ( 55-6-1-40KO's ) and Pacquiao ( 54-5-2-38 KO's) are set to have a tune-up bout in different opponents to further hype a potential fifth meeting this coming September.
But Pacquioa's longtime trainer Freddie Roach is not on the same wavelength with the tune up fight. He would rather want Pacquioa to rest, train, and go straight into a fifth fight against Marquez.
They are talking about a tune fight in Macau right now, with him and Marquez on the same show together in different opponents and then a rematch in September which is being negotiated now. The thing is, I don't really want a tune up fight. I would rather go straight to a fifth fight. I don't think Manny at this stage of his career and his caliber needs a tune up fight. The thing is, he is going right back to the horse. The first thing he said to me ( after his loss to Marquez ) - we need to do it one more time," Roach told Fight Hub TV
