If Regondeaux out for April 13, Vic Darchinyan is plan B for Donaire's 2013 fight

One of the hottest news in the boxing world this week is a scheduled unification fight between the WBA super bantamweight champion Guillermo Regondeaux and WBO super bantamweight champion Nonito Donaire on April 13, 2013.

Guillermo is now preparing for the fight of his career that is why he parted  ways with trainer Jorge Rubio and officially retained the services the Pedro  Diaz, a Cuban coach, who also trained Puerto Rican superstar Miguel Angel Cotto.

Regondeaux said, Top Rank sent a contract for the Nonito Donaire fight which my advisers are reviewing, but I made it clear to Top Rank that I wanted to resolve the legal  problems between my promoter, Carrabi Promotions and Top Rank before the date of the fight.

Arum said, the scheduled fight is not too far so he will not waste time with a back and forth debate with Regondeaux on the legal case which he believes has no merit.

When this situation becomes difficult to resolve, Arum has plan B for the Donaire fight will be pushed through on April 13. This fight is a rematch with Vic Darchinyan ( 38-5-1,27 KO's).

Donaire placed himself in the list of the rising superstars in boxing by knocking out the Darchinyan in the 5th round with a counter left hook  landed to the chain of the champion and captured his first championship belt in the flyweight division.

Born in Armenia, Darchinyan who became an Australian citizen and now fights out of Glendale, California is a former IBF/IBO flyweight champion, WBC/WBA/IBF super flyweight champion and an IBO bantamweight champion.
