Vic Darchinyan himself said, Rigondeaux was not worthy of fighting Donaire and claimed “The Filipino Flash” would have to buy a pair of roller skates because the Cuban will run throughout the fight.
Donaire also said “he’ll probably run since there is nothing else he can do. He can’t fight coming forward” after Rigondeaux was quoted by boxingscene.com saying Donaire "should prepare for whats coming."
The four division world champion said he hasn’t watched any tapes of Rigondeaux’s fights as yet and will have a better idea after he sees his videos and we’ll see what he’s going to do and we’ll be ready for whatever he brings.” The champion said, he had started light training this week and indicated “its been going well” and that he’ll “pick it up later on.”
